Socialist Verses

“Rhyme and Reason,” by H. S. Salt. (Modern Press, Paternoster Row, London.)

We must not, we suppose, speak too highly of poems and verses which have appeared in JUSTICE. So much, however, we may permit ourselves to say—that this little collection contains more of the genuine life and “go” of a popular versifier, coupled with admirable literary execution than is to be found in works of great celebrity. Mr. Salt has undoubted power in this direction, having considerable command alike of satire, humour and pathos. All should buy this admirable penny-worth.
