Kim Stallwood
Patron
Kim Stallwood is an internationally recognised animal rights author, independent scholar, consultant and speaker. Over five decades, he has worked at the grassroots of the animal rights movement and held leadership positions with some of its best-known organisations in the UK and USA.
In 2014, he published his memoir, Growl: Life Lessons, Hard Truths, and Bold Strategies from an Animal Advocate, reflecting on his experiences and lessons from a lifetime of campaigning. In 2026, Kim celebrates 50 years as a vegan and animal rights activist.
Kim is also dedicated to preserving the history of the animal rights movement. The British Library established the Kim Stallwood Archive in 2020, bringing together an extensive collection of historical research materials documenting the movement. He is a consultant to the Zurich-based animal law organisation Tier im Recht, which acquired his wider collection of books, publications and other materials to preserve this important history.
Simon Wild

Simon Wild is a longstanding animal welfare campaigner who has spent decades opposing hunting, often at considerable personal cost. His work has helped secure convictions under the Hunting Act. With his wife, Jaine, he co-founded the National Anti-Snaring Campaign and played an important role in securing a ban on snares in Wales. He also co-runs West Sussex Wildlife Protection.
longside his campaigning, Simon is a leading authority on Henry Salt and Ernest Bell. He has also written about Salt in Wildlife Guardian, the journal of the League Against Cruel Sports. Together with his wife, Jaine, he has recently published Skirmishes with Savages.
