Anna Jessey Wade (2 December 1859 – 10 May 1952) was an English animal welfare campaigner.
Wade was born in Westminster, Middlesex on 2 December 18592, the first child of three. Her parents were John Wade (b. 1831), a chemist and dentist, and Anna Lydia Barber (1832-1862).3 Her sisters were Ethel Anna Wade (b. 1861) and Sarah Anna Wade (b. 26 August 1862).
The UK’s leading feline welfare charity, Cats Protection was formed in 1927 by a group of like minded people led by Jessey Wade.1
