Henry Salt’s Personal Collection Sold

Mrs Catherine Salt entrusted Henry Salt’s private photographs, books, letters and more to the author and publisher Jon Wynne-Tyson. Mr Wynne-Tyson was believed to have arranged that Henry Salt’s collection was to be preserved by the West Sussex Record Office after his passing. Unfortunately auctions of Salt material appeared shortly after Jon’s death in 2020, showing that this priceless collection was sold to the highest bidder by Mr Wynne-Tyson’s family.
